If you just went to dance, then you could have danced alone. On a crowded dance floor, no one notices. If you wanted to dance with a guy, then again, you have to attract attention to yourself. Cassie was doing that, and you were not. Thus my suspicion that you were jealous of her.

Lots of women go to a club to dance and flirt with no intention of taking it any further. One of the advantages of being a woman in western society is that she can be a bit flirty and get drinks and dances all night at a bar without having to do more. Cassie used that advantage. You didn't.
