Your point about "combat" soldier is moot. It all combat, Lester. My great uncle was in an artillery unit in WWI. If he just aimed the guns and didn't fire the gun he was still in combat. US, UK, and French soldiers aiming the missiles are in combat, even if they are not launching the missiles.
