No. I never made that claim. You're creating a straw man argument to get out of the fact that Russia is not militarily aggressive towards its neighbors since the fall of the USSR.

Russia not being expansionist does not mean that the Russian government is interested in Russia being Balkonized and financially pillaged by the West as it was in the 90s.

Two things can be true at the same time.

I'm not a Kremlin apologist. I think the Russian government is a kleptocratic oligarchy balancing power with an ex-KGB strong man. I'm glad as hell that I don't live in Russia.

That does not make NATO lying to Russia about expanding starting in the 90s and continuing until today a good thing.

Two things can be bad at the same time.

There are no "good guys" in the Ukrainian war except for Ukrainian civilians. NATO, the corrupt Ukrainian government and the Russian government are all bad actors to some degree. I find it ironic that in this horrible situation, the least bad actor appears to be Russian government.
