…read or seen, no one has seriously suggested that Putin has lost all political support for the war. Maybe I’m reading the wrong sources, but if a coup were in the works, I don’t see it happening. I don’t see Russia relenting on the war effort, either.

Neither do I, nor do I see anyone in political power in Russia who is LESS hawkish than Putin. Just the opposite. Think about that. Putin is a ruthless dictator and yet he tried hard from 2008, and very hard from 2014 to 2022 to NOT go to war in Ukraine.
If Putin gets overthrown in Russia, we can only expect a more ruthless warmonger to take his place.
