My wife is a goddess. The best thing that ever happened to me.

Bamboo fabric is not expensive, at least here in Austria. What IS expensive is labor. My wife has sewn clothes since she was making them for her dolls as a child. Her mom ran a custom seamstress business for decades, so my wife grew up in the business. I can't count the number of times people have said they want to pay my wife to sew them something unique that my wife was wearing that day. We even ran a clothing business for a few years, but that is another story.

90% of people are just talk. The reality is that people don't want to pay for the labor. They have grown accustomed to fast fashion prices.

My wife also shops at fast fashion outlets even though we both don't like them. She'll come home and show me a top or leggings that cost less than the thread would cost, let alone material, labor and equipment (my wife has two sewing machines, one of which is a very fancy combo overlock/coverlock on a custom work area we had built for her) would cost if she designed and sewed them herself..

There are laws about who can sell, design, and produce clothing here in the EU, like in the US (actually much tougher). But there is no problem for H&M to ship in clothes made by child slave labor in unsafe conditions in Bangladesh, then ship it here in environmentally disastrous container ships. The result is that the textile industries in the EU and US have been destroyed. OK, socialist rant finished.

My wife likes to sew her own clothes when she can, because they are unique and super comfortable being tailormade for her. Cost effective? That is a matter of opinion. She often sews things she can't get anywhere else. Like period panties that don't make her feel like she's got a brick in in her underwear, or make her sweat massively when boxing. You sweat massively even in light clothes when boxing.

Boxing is about the dirtiest of dirty whore sports for a woman. I mean, what kind of woman wants to hit things and fight? Ironically, as of yet no guy would dare call her a dirty whore, as whenever someone even starts to get lippy or aggressive with her my wife will get right up in their faces. So far every Mr. "I'm gonna show this little bitch whose the man here" has backed down, because it is clear she's not playing. Hilarious after the fact, even if it is tense at the moment.
