My wife, from Czechia, had never seen the film. She didn't like it. There is no nostaglia (real or fake) for her, nor cultural touch stones. She's usually very aware of rape culture issues being - as most women are - a victim of sexual assault. I don't remember her mentioning anything about it, but I also don't know which version we have.
