My wife is Czech and has virtually zero connection to US culture pre-90s. We met in the 03. We live in Austria. My half-American son has also never lived in the US, although both have visited the US.

As much as I'd like to share these parts of my American cultural past, I understand neither of them will have a connection to the culture the way I do. I take it with a spoon full of sugar.
