My question was "what would they fight with?" not "what would they fight as?" Guns without ammo are just clubs. Vehicles without fuel and/or repair are just sitting targets.

Your stat on Ukrainians hating Russians is incorrect. Even removing the Donbas and Crimea the stat is not that high except in the far west.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Russia has plans to occupy all of Ukraine. They have not stated that as a goal.

If Russia wins the war by achieving their goal of demiliatarizing Ukraine (they are well on their way), and there is a negotiated settlement, I'm sure Russia will require a verifiably neutral and non-threatening Ukraine after the war. A Ukraine administered by Ukrainians.

That is a lot of speculation on my part. I recognize that. I also recognize that Russia is not completely stupid and is unlikely to choose a "US-Style" occupation a la Afghanistan / Iraq.
