Most progressive comments here and elsewhere push back against Gabbard on this. They say gas attacks are all ISIS/terrorists. They say that Gabbard is a MIC apologist/toady (yes, Bari Weiss, I know what that word means) for saying this. I am not so confident that sitting in my office in Vienna I know more than Gabbard does as a Major in the National Guard and sitting on the House Armed Services committee about who committed all of the attacks.

Gabbard has pushed back against assertions regarding specific attacks, and the evidence I’ve seen supports her position. But let’s not start thinking that Assad is a good guy who is above killing his own people.

The position Gabbard has (and with which I agree) is that Assad is a bad guy, but the US going into Syria will only make a bad situation worse.
