Marines are not trained to handle citizens of our country. They are trained to kill and disable people in war zones outside our country. That is why ex military people make (in general) bad cops. They are trained for a different mission.

The massive militarization of US police forces is such a bad thing for the same basic reason. Ex military police in full tactical gear are treating American citizens more and more like "the enemy" rather than the people who they are supposed to "protect and serve."
