Look on the bright side. It was a gas tax in France that was the straw that broke the camel's back and started the Yellow Vest movement of people just shutting things down.

Even after the proposed gas tax in France was taken off the table, the people were already so angry about all the other little taxes and reductions in tax-paid benefits that they just keep protesting.

I hope that this one will do it in the US. Shit is not going to get better until people get in the streets and protest non-violently.
