The US is trying to make publishing documents outside the US by non-US persons a crime under US law. The US is trying to set a precedent that the US can arrest anyone anywhere in the world under US law, even though the US has no legal jurisdiction or authority. It is the ultimate “might makes right” authoritarianism.
