The US has no international authority to be there, and domestic law is based on the tried and true AUMF from George Bush after 9/11.

We've lost this frontier war as well. It looks VERY likely that Turkey will soon stop supporting our occupation - I mean control - of 1/3 of Syria. That will collapse the northern border and the entire attempt to overthrow another Mid East government that doesn't knuckle under to the West.

What did we get for it? Untold dead. Destruction of millions of lives. A shitton of Syrian refugees here in Europe. More expensive gas. Untold amounts of pollution. Oh, but the US MIC made ungodly amounts of money. So I guess it's a wash.
