I've had my own company for nearly 28 years here in Vienna. We've done business all over the world. However, work in Russia, China, India, Mideast I'll only work as a subcontractor to a huge multinational, and the contract must be in the EU or US. Why? Because if a Russian company doesn't pay I have virtually no chance to ever get my money. We have more than enough work other places, why take the risk? Their contract laws are NOT EU contract laws.

So my thoughts on Brittney Griner were exactly the same as yours. Why take the risk? You're getting paid $1,000,000 / season but you can't take the time to pack carefully, or have a trusted assistent pack for you? Are you stupid or just arrogant?

I feel bad for Ms. Griner, but with limits. She CHOSE to work in Russia. You'd get arrested taking cannabis into the Netherlands, and it is legal there (sort of). It is NOT legal in Russia. Even I know that. Why take that risk? Again, stupidity or arrogance.
