I've been using bidets for decades. When we renovated our 1/2 bathroom we put in a toilet with a built in bidet. The toilet bowl was no more expensive than any other medium-nice bowl, and the hardware and labor (I never learned how to weld) was about €50.

I do almost all my home repairs myself. Talk about saving time - yes, an electrician can maybe fix a cable or plug a little faster (recent examples), but I didn't have to call and wait and/or pay minimum fees for time plus travel. I fixed both on Sunday morning in about 30 minutes, saving me hundreds of Euros not including my time.
