I've been living and running a business in Austria since before Austria joined the EU or had the Euro. There are definitely problems with the Euro, but doing business is way easier with the Euro than previously.

Just as importantly, after 20 years of experience, the BRICS folks can learn from the weaknesses in the Euro system and set up their currency without those weaknesses.

Many people (me included) think the Euro was set up on purpose with its weaknesses to keep the EU subservient to the dollar and US financiers.
