I've been fortunate to never have been really poor. Decades later I still make this same choice. Line dried clothes last longer, and dryers take a huge amount of electricity.
Bidets are awesome. At the office we don't have either a bidet or a bidet function toilet (built in bidet as is common in many places of the world). There we use a handheld version. See the link below. Awesome and cheap.
