I've been dealing with the issue of "right to repair" since long before it was called, "right to repair." Both directly and one degree removed with a parnter firm of ours. We won earlier, but they fought for nearly two decades before winning on basically the same grounds as described in the article: The end customer should not be locked into a single supplier for services on something they own. That is basicallly extortion. Particularly when there are very few vendors.
