It is too early to tell if the Hunter Biden emails are legit or if the timing was random or planned, but there was nothing "ill-timed" about the criminal investigation into Clinton. It started long before she decided - while under criminal investigation - to run for president.
She took the risk, and played for time - with the help of the DNC and MSM except Fox - hoping she'd win the White House before the shit hit the fan.
That decision, just like all the others that lead to her loss, is totally on Hillary Clinton.
