It is not capitalism that produces wealth. That is patently false. Wealth has been created for as long as civilization has been around, and capitalism has only been around since the end of feudalism.

Trade and comparitive advantage are what create wealth. Those can and do exist without capitalism. Check out the big coops in Baskenland, Spain. They've been doing fine since forming at the end of WWII.

As a long-tiem business owner, I'm not against capitalism. I've gone from lower-middle class in Milwaukee to very upper middle-class in Vienna, Austria based on my skills and accumulation of capital. I also recognize the huge dangers of capital when huge amounts of capital is allowed in too few hands. Democracy cannot survive that.
