It is interesting how the "status-quo" supporters can only cover so many subjects at once.

Today (Feb 2023) if you write something not supportive of NATO or Ukraine, you'll be told, "Why don't you go live in Russia and see how it is?" and "You sound like a Russian troll" by numerous commentors.

Only a few years ago in 2016 Bernie Sanders was running against Hillary Clinton and pointing out the horror of our for-profit healthcare system. Back then, a post like yours would have a bunch of comments (many suspciously similar...) saying, "Why don't you go live in [Canada, Europe] and see how it is?" "You know Canadians come to the US for healthcare?" True for one specific common operation, IIRC. "In Europe you wait for service!" True for elective/non-emergency operations. You wait in the US as well, and if you are poor, you wait forever.

Bernie had the potential to upset the status quo. Thus the demonization of everything he pointed out was a problem. That was the one thing Trump and Bernie had in common: The people who hated them - the people getting rich off the corrupt systems in the US.
