It is absolutely my place to tell people what to think (/sarcasm). A couple of points I thought of after my first comment and your reply.

Regarding hypocrisy and lying. If you've got "mates" who will lie to their wife/monogamous girlfriend about their sexual activities/needs/desires, you think they won't lie to you about something important to you?

I did actually know a guy who dated strippers. He spent huge sums of money in those clubs. The girls I met were all really nice. Each left him after they realized that he had no interest in a long term relationship/marriage, just having sex with one hot chick after another. He's older and alone now with a grown child from one of the girls he dated. I don't know if he's happy. It is probably just my own personality of liking having a partner that precludes me thinking that his life is the way to go. He is (was) a very nice guy. Just not my lifestyle.

Disclosure: My wife was a professional go-go dancer for many years before I met her. So I've definitely got some personal prejudices in my opinions.
