Interesting if depressingly sober article. My only correction is that "the world" is not coming to an end. "The planet" is not doomed.

The planet will go on. Earth may even go on with life similar to ours...after a few million years of hiatus. This would be similar to the rise of mammals after reptiles were the dominant life form for hundreds of millions of years.

The key difference is that the dinosaurs were wiped out by natural phenomena, while we humans are killing ourselves.
