Interesting article for comparison, but I think your sentence here gets at the essence of the issue. Some people want to work more than others. Some people are better at the same job as others. Some people are unable to work or work well due to issues beyond their control.
The key is to have "equitable inequality" TM Jack Albrecht 2023 ;-) That is, discourage hording wealth while providing a livable base level of income for all jobs.
