I admit I don't know a huge amount about how Medium pays content creators. I do know more than a bit about YouTube, and there you can have the same reach but YouTube doesn't share the revenue with the content creators based on "reasons" that are difficult to impossible to find out. Similar with Facebook. I am assuming (yes, always dangerous) that Medium does something like YouTube and Facebook.

In any case, there is zero transparency on what the actual numbers of revenue are. Medium does not allow you admin access to their systems to query their databases and see what they are actually earning from your work.

But is is extremely suspicious that Indi was earning great money, then stopped, while writing on the same types of themes and from the same perspective.

Maybe Medium is just straight up suppressing Indi. In that case they are not "not paying him" but dumping their own income to drive Indi out of business. Hmmm... what kind of an illegal group that originally came from Italy would also do something like that?
