Incorrect. Europe is not a monolith. The Baltic states hate Russia. Most Poles hate Russia. The rest of Europe? Not so much.

The EU didn't want Ukraine before the war. NATO didn't want Ukraine before the war. Who wanted Ukraine in NATO and the EU? The US did. This whole war is cracking both the EU and NATO.

Particularly central and eastern Europe does not hate Russia. Germany was getting along fine with Russia before the war. That was the problem for the US. The US wanted to sell LNG to Germany. Condi Rice discused this "problem" (Russia delivering gas to Germany) openly at least 10 years ago. Many other high level Americans as well.

And WHAT a COINCIDENCE! "Someone" blew up NS II and now the US is delivering LNG to Europe. Wow. Was that lucky or what?

For those of us here in Europe, Russia was just another business partner like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE, Libya (with Gadaffi), Iran, Iraq, Syria, etc. A business partner with domestic political issues, but a steady business partner for energy.

Note that list above. Every country that does NOT cow tow to the US has been invaded and/or sanctioned massively.

This is 2023, not 1943. We have the interwebs here in Europe as well. We know who is going around the world starting wars to overthrow every government that disagrees with them. It ain't Russia.

The entire premise of the EU was to stop the centuries of European wars by making business, particularly between France and Germany. It is working well. That same plan was working with Russia - for the EU. The US didn't want that, and here we are.
