In the interest of safety, the US is assuring that all kids will have PTSD when they graduate.
I got very lucky when I landed in Austria and decided to stay rather than go back to the US. My son didn't have to go through this (such things were non-existent even in Texas in the 80s when I was in High School there).
I don't see the US revoking the 2nd amendment. The way things are in the US, I understand some groups when they say it is only the fact that they may be armed that keeps them from being slaughtered by the police. That being said, more guns never leads to more peace on average. Sure, there are definitely times when a good guy with a gun kills a bad guy with a gun.
The problem is the guns and how friggin' easy it is to get one in the US. Until that changes - back to the way it was 50 years ago - the situation is only going to get worse.
