I'm old enough to remember that right after Russia's invasion the press thought it was great that Zelenskyy wore fatigues all the time.
I go back and forth. Personally I only care about how he's doing his job, and not what he wears while doing it. That being said, being on the cover of Vogue, and going to award shows around the world seems NOT like the job of the president of a war-torn country, but something for his press agent/rep.
Apropos press:
1) Clearly the message was given to the WH press that it was OK to push Zelenskyy on his attire; and
2) WAY more important. If you had the possibility to ask the president of Ukraine ONE question, would it really be about what he is wearing? Not, "When will you rescind the order not to negotiate with Putin?" or "How long do you think Ukrainian troops will last at the current rate of attrition?"
re 2: IMO not unless you were prepped to ask that question, or you are completely useless as a journalist.
