I'm not sure I agree with you, but that is a VERY interesting perspective.

I've been living in Austria long enough to have been here before it joined the EU, and before the Euro. Sure, business transactions are easier in one currency, but I'm not a fan of the Euro overall.

I wouldn't say Brussels is dictating policy to the member states, but the EU commission is also a long ways from perfect.

I'm quite happy that Austria is not in NATO. That being said, the pressure to follow fellow EU countries who are all in NATO is high, and I don't like that either.
