I'm not sure how old you are, but this movie has already played in Russia. The US won the cold war. The USSR was desolved and Yeltsin, a pro-American leader, was elected. In a twist of irony, in 1996 the cover of Time magazine bragged about how the US meddled in the Russian election to get Yeltsin re-elected.

In 2000 Putin was elected with the understanding that he would continue the raping of the Russian economy and environment.

Putin turned out not to be the pushover that Yeltsin was, and that is why the Russian people, despite Putin's relatively brutal near-dictatorship and clear personal enrichment, revere him as a politician.

The Russian people have not forgotten the horrible 90s, when life expectancy dropped by years every year. If Putin is overthrown we can only expect a more hard-line anti-American to take his place.
