I'm highlighting this and will save for potential future reference. I'd bet a huge amount that this will not happen on 8 August, at least not 8 August 2024.
I should have asked also for a definition of "Manufacturing." The issue with EVs (also PHEVs) is the very dirty business of mining for the elements needed for EV batteries. These are dirtier than for ICE cars and take place before we get to an EV car factory.
It is also important to note that manufacturing and sustainability for an increase in EVs requires a commensurate increase in electrical infrastructure: Transformers, cables, switches, batteries, etc. These require the same dirty production as for the car batteries. Such manufacturing costs are 100% required for a move to EVs. These same costs do not exist for ICE cars.
Back to the top of your post. It is not for you to decide "on the things that matter" who is awesome or not. That is the point of ratings from independent sources like Consumer Reports and JD Power. The actual customers say that Tesla build quality is poor. That is "the things that matter."
"FSD has has quantum leaped itself in the last three months."
A 3x improvement over a non-functioning FSD is...still a non-functioning FSD. Keep polishing that brown nugget, Paul.
