I’m gen X almost boomer and have been doing this for a long time. I figured out the Ponzi nature after the 2000 Wallstreet Dotcom scam crash. This allowed us to survive the 2008 Wall Street housing scam crash and learning from that we’re in better shape for the corona-enabled 2020 Wall Street derivatives scam crash. Until we get Wall Street back to it’s purpose of just providing capital for business and away from speculation, FIRE is the only sensible way to live for the non 0.1% (IMHO).
