I’m an ex-pat US citizen running a business for 25+ years in “M4A” style Austria. There are actually multiple payers here, but they are all state-run (public). Private supplementary insurance is available here.
There is no doubt that M4A is vastly superior to the US system. Easier and cheaper for patients, doctors, hospitals, as well as the taxpayers and businesses like mine that fund it.
One major critique of your article. The OG of M4A is Bernie Sanders, not Andrew Yang. Let’s give credit where credit is due.
It should also be noted that since you wrote this article in February, Yang has backed off of his support for M4A. He now says that transitioning quickly, like Bernie’s 4 year plan, would be “too disruptive.” As with all the other M4A posers, once pushback from the establishment comes, it is only Bernie who still stands 100% behind M4A.
