I'll see your amygdala hijack and raise you cuckold bully.

I had a lawyer once who told me that if someone said something to me that I didn't like, if I was going to hit him, then hit him immediately. That "moment of passion" is otherwise known as an amygdala hijack. If I argue and THEN hit him, or do anything and then hit him, I'm in a worse legal position because it is premeditated.

Your 9-year-old had an amygdala hijack. Will Smith had at least 10 seconds (I checked the video) from the time he saw Jada's face to decide to get up, walk on stage, and assault Rock. If that was film from any random public video camera where we don't hear the audio, Will Smith is arrested for assault. No question about it. Most VERY likely convicted as well.

I'm a trained boxer who works out 4-6 times a week. I am the same height as Smith, not a 1/2 head shorter like Rock. I outweigh Smith by about 10 lbs, and I'm not fat. Would Smith have tried to assault me? Doubt it, but he doesn't know me (probably would if I was presenting at the Oscars). Hard to say if I could see the sucker punch (slap) coming, but I sure as fuck would have hit him back. And not with an open hand.

Joe Rogan is a comedian about as short as Rock. Would Smith have tried to assault Joe Rogan? I VERY sincerely doubt it.

Smith perpetrated a premediated assault (IMO) against a known (to him) smaller opponent. He's a cuckold bully who should have been taken out by security and arrested.

I think my wife had the best take. If he had to respond on stage, Smith could have walked up, taken the mic, and stated that Jada has alopecia (we didn't know that, no idea if Rock did), said that the joke was hurtful to Jada and unappreciated. No threats, no demands. Standing up for his wife verbally, not aggressively.

The fact that Smith was not arrested explains how monsters like Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby could assault women for decades in Hollywood and get away with it.
