If the genocide in Gaza were not happening, I think there was a possibility for the US to keep funding the war in Ukraine a while longer. Blackrock invested heavily in Ukraine over the last years, and they really don't want to see that investment go south. Blackrock is a huge political donor.
Biden is degrading mentally. Netanyahu continues to ramp up his genocidal rhetoric to keep out of court (and probably prison) for corruption. The US southern border situation is slowly boiling. The US debt to GDP ratio is 100% lower than Russia's (~115% to 15%). Brazil now openly comparing the Israelis to the Nazis. South Africa pushing the ICJ again for an injunction. First and foremost - there are no weapons to send to Ukraine.
In this situation, the US has to make the best face exit from Ukraine it can. We don't want to, so it will take a while still, but nothing like Afghanistan, Iraq or Syria, where it was also clear after a couple of years that we were not going to be able to install a pro-Western "democracy" that could stand (sort of) on its own.
