If all Russian are resonsible for Putin's war, then after Afghanistan, Iraq, and Libya - to name the most egregious examples of only the last 20 years - we in the west better sit down and shut the hell up.
I am responsible for my words and actions. As part of a "democracy" I vote my conscience. I am responsible for 1/20,000,000 (roughly) of what a president I voted for does, and even there my culpability is questionable.
If you made me president in December 2021 when Putin was putting a lot of effort into avoiding war, I would have negotiated with Putin. We would have avoided this war and most likely I'd have been assassinated soon after.
Biden did not negoatiate with Putin. He refused. The US armed Ukraine, the US specifically armed Ukraine to fight Russia - we have Senators on video talking about this in Ukraine, to Ukrainian troops, years before Russia's invasion.
Does that make all Americans responsible for the war? We're told virtually every day how Putin is a ruthless dictator, and noone can speak up against him. We're told literally every day how much better it is in the US. We can say whatever we want.
The US did everything possible to start this war, and are doing everything possible to keep it going.
Does that make every American responsible for this war? Of course not. That is a facile argument. Even more so is to say that all Russian's - if they have no freedom of speech or power to oppose Putin - are responsible for this war.
