I'd add "obvious" to "an asshole." What sucks is growing up thinking some close relatives are "OK, maybe not great" and only later realizing, "No, they are assholes, just not blatant about it" and further realizing that I had picked up quite a few habits of theirs that I needed to drop to get the asshole stench off myself.
