I used to be a car enthusiast and still read Road & Track online. 30 years living in Vienna and over 10 years with my office in walking distance have me using a car only for convenience and almost exclusively on weekends.
Touring in an "old-timer" as they are called here sounds fun, especially if you have a resto-mod. I have no desire to go back to the days of sanding points to get my car to run smoothly. Again my only unasked-for advice is to make sure you have all your documentation upfront, and make sure that what you want to have done with the car is approved before you have it done. Austria is big on regulations (a good thing) and it is time consuming if you don't get things done in right order.
I've never lived in the 18th. I've lived in the 2nd, 16th, 13th, 1st, 3rd and now the 11th. I love it here for multiple reasons. A big one is I travel a lot and I can get to the airport quickly and via multiple modes with no headaches. I also have business reasons for being on this side of town. Infrastructure is awesome here. I walk or bike 95% of the time, and where I live is a "6-minute-city."
But "Wien ist ein Dorf" as we say here, so maybe we'll see each other.
