I think whether you feel the need to take care of your parents has so many individual variables each with individual weighting factors that there is no "one" answer.

The only "one" position on the subject is that I don't judge anyone else's decision, precisely because I was not a kid to those parents and I definitely don't know all the variables (let alone weighting factors) in the relationship between a adult and their parent(s).
