I think this is your projection. South Park points out the hypocrisy in American society. Political satire that is also (to me) extremely funny.

Matt and Trey care enough about America and Americans to spend their careers trying to point out the problems with America in a funny way. This is exactly what comedic icons like George Carlin did and do.
