I think the whole "flat earth" fad nowadays is because through the internet we're slowly learning that a whole lot of the things that have been "poo-poo-ed" as tinfoil hat crazy now have enough documentation to say, "You know, there might be something to that."

Back in when I was a kid in the 70s, stating that you didn't believe the official JFK assassination story was "crazy talk." Do you remember when the FBI denied the existence of the mafia? Etc. Etc.

I see "flat earth" and I think "question established rhetoric."
