I think the fact that so many remakes, knock-offs and series resulted from this film are a testament to its impact. I really enjoyed it.

I saw the 1997 series before the original film, as my wife knew the show but had never seen the last seasons. We got the DVD set and have watched it twice. Peta Wilson is great in the role. Very believable. Low budget but that gives it charm and makes the show stand on the stories and actions and not the *cough* Michael Bay *cough* explosions.
