I think I'd do whatever it takes. Fortunately our son is healthy so far, and never had anything chronic.

My best friend from high school and college has a kid with a very rare condition. He has to take a certain medicine daily. If it doesn't have it, he'll die in a few weeks. When he was born, it was just by luck that someone in the hospital knew about the disease and got him on it before he died.

My friend told me if there is one thing he could do in this world, it would be to make his kid not need that medicine to live.
