I see this the same way. Similar to the US, Russia has very quickly made itself dependent on war. I don't see Russia going further in Ukraine than (maybe) Kyiv. They might try to take Moldova.

As you write, "What then?" will be the problem. I worry they will take the same path as the US and just keep searching for more war.
