I see no real value to this post.

I think it is pointless to draw only general parallels between something that happened 43 to 116 years ago.

No doubt Russia underestimated Ukraine. And? How long did that last before they changed tactics and no longer underestimated Ukraine (actually how much the US supports Ukraine)? 2-4 months? 6 months?

Looking at the war and the trends now, it looks like Russia has corrected. We'll see soon enough.
