I question your position even more after reading this sentence.

Hitchen's razor: "what can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence."

I read /skimmed both articles. Very interesting, but neither made the claim you did, that "conservatism is a mental illness." If you can point out the words from either article that say that (or something similar) then you're original statement is justified. If not, then I go back to my original comment:

"I define as a social democrat leaning more towards socialism, and even I find your definition tone deaf at best.

"Conservatism, like any other political belief, is just that - a political belief. If you actually believe that conservatives are mentally ill, how can you expect to get any legislation accomplished with them?"
