I marvel at the cognitive disonence most “animal lovers” avoid (as I did for decades) that some animals are pets we would run into a burning house to save, while other animals of roughly the same size, shape, intelligence and sentience are bred for a short brutal life of slavery and torture before we slaughter and eat them.
