I left the US for Austria for a job a long time ago.
I also don't plan on going back. I never say "never" (although I just did, didn't I?) but I digress. I've stayed for similar reasons you list, plus after a longer time you'll see the advantages of social democracy in day-to-day life (e.g. lower crime, cleaner streets, better public transportation).
I've had a couple of clear opportunities to move back years ago and didn't take either. In retrospect I'm very glad, although I'm in the income range where I wouldn't be suffering economically no matter who is president and would have the privilege of hating Trump only because he's such an asshole.
I watched the Obama presidency with older ex-pat eyes. He wasn't all that, even though I voted for him once. Biden has no intention of fixing the problems of the US. The world got lucky that proto-fascist Trump is lazy and stupid. It is unlikely we will be that lucky a second time. A Biden victory makes a worse Trump more likely.
