I left America a long time ago. I didn’t originally plan to emigrate, it has just worked out that way…so far. I don’t know if I’ll go back. I’ve learned never to say “never.”

The US is physically a beautiful country, with very many wonderful people. Unfortunately, currently and for the last several decades it has been ruthlessly exploited by the US oligarchs. Not dissimilar to the situation 100 years ago.

The Covid-19-induced Great Depression v2.0 may result in another FDR-like figure heading a movement to steer the US back to financial and democratic sanity. I had hoped that figure would be Bernie, but sadly he is not up to the task. We’ll see…

In any case, I’m happy I’m not there now, and I’m happy for you that you got out and are enjoying the rest of the world.
