I know it is not possible for everyone, but going vegan (starting my 7th year) was the best nutrional change I've ever made, and I'm over 50. More energy, better digestion, lower cost**. What is not to like?
Going full vegan takes time and infrastructure that not everyone has. I get that. I also know that time is money thus my "**" regarding "lower cost."
I train 5-6 days a week and 4+ days of that are weight training. The argument that you can't do sports or get the protein you need as a vegan are just wrong. Again I'll add the caveat that it takes time to find protein sources you can handle.
A giant bonus to vegan food is that it is less calorie dense than animal-based food. So you can eat a lot without getting fat or feeling like you have to sit on the couch afterwords for two hours (e.g. post Thanksgiving dinner) just to be able to function.
